This used OEM BMW crankshaft / crank shaft, part number 7524532, also replaces 0396404 and 0396402. It was removed from a donor vehicle and is a genuine factory component. The crank shaft converts the linear motion of the pistons into rotational force to drive the engine's timing chain and accessories. A worn or damaged crank can cause knocking noises, vibration, or oil pressure loss. It fits select 4.8-liter V8 engines from the N62 family, including the 4799CC and 4837CC naturally aspirated variants found in the 5 Series, 6 Series, 7 Series, and X5.
