The Volkswagen hood strut (OEM 5NA823359A) is a used genuine replacement gas shock for Tiguan models. It also supersedes number 5NA823359. This hood support strut keeps the hood securely open for engine bay access. Over time, these struts lose gas pressure, causing the hood to sag or not stay up. It fits Tiguan models with 1.4L and 2.0L turbocharged engines. When the strut weakens, replacing it restores proper hood support.
