It's compatible with BMW models equipped with 2.0L turbo four, 3.0L six-cylinder (naturally aspirated, turbocharged, and hybrid), and 4.4L V8 turbo engines. The starter's job is to crank the engine; a failing unit often produces a single loud click rather than engaging the flywheel, preventing the engine from starting.
