It combines the tilt/telescope mechanism, ignition lock housing, and multifunction switch mounts into one unit. Over time, the column can develop excessive play, binding, or electrical faults in the steering-angle sensor, leading to warning lights or loss of power-assist features. This assembly comes from an Audi Q5 or Q5 Sportback with a 2.0L EA888 or 3.0L V6 engine.
