Also known simply as the turbo wastegate actuator, it regulates exhaust flow to the turbine wheel, controlling boost pressure. When failing, you may notice overboost, underboost, or a check-engine light. This actuator is specific to Audi’s 4.0L V8 MHEV DOHC turbocharged engines (EA825 family).
