BMW Upper Engine Cover Plate / Turbo Heat Shield, OEM part number 7845810 (also replaces 7843159), is a used genuine component removed from a donor vehicle. This dual-function part serves as both the upper engine cover and a heat shield for the turbocharger. It was originally fitted to turbocharged 3.0L I6 and 4.4L V8 BMW engines. Over time, engine heat can cause the plastic to crack or warp, or the mounting clips may break, leading to rattles or poor heat management.
