In this article we will show you how to change your Audi Q7 headlight bulb. If you have any questions, contact us — we’re happy to help.
Procedure
- Step 1: Start by popping the hood of your Q7. This hood release lever is located on the lower portion of the driver side kick panel.
-
Step 2: Once the hood is popped the next step is to pop the side retaining clip to its upper position. Use a flat blade screwdriver to get some leverage on the clip. Lift up until it seats in the upper position. It is possible to completely remove the clip so be careful not to lose it if it comes all the way out.
-
Step 3: Use a flat blade screwdriver to press the exterior retaining tab while pushing on the rear of the headlight. If done correctly the headlight should move forward a couple of inches. This will give you enough room to remove the bulb cover in the next step.
-

Step 4: Grip the tab on the bulb cover located on the rear of the headlight. Slide the cover towards the center of the car. Remove the cover from the headlight assembly.
-

Step 5: There is a black plastic ring that holds the bulb inside the headlight. You will need to spin the ring counter clockwise about 1/4 of a turn.
- Step 6: Once the retaining ring is loosened you can then pull the bulb our of the socket and disconnect the plug.
- Step 7: Please just follow this article in reverse to install the bulb. IMPORTANT! Do Not Touch the glass of the new bulb.
