In this article we will go through the steps on how to remove the shift boot from your 2001 Audi TT MK1. This process is very simple it should only take a few minutes. If you find this article useful, please share it.

Procedure

  1. Use Torx-20 BitRemove Torx-20 Step 1: Using your Torx-20 bit, remove all bolts around the retaining ring
  2. Remove Retaining RingRemove Boot Step 2: Once the bolts are out, remove the retaining ring surrounding the boot. Then, Gently peel the rubber base from the center console.
  3. Remove Shifter KnobRemove Boot Step 3: Before you can remove the full shifter boot, you will need to remove the shifter knob. Simply unscrew the shifter knob, then remove the shifter boot. 🙂
