This duct routes filtered air from the airbox to the throttle body on the 2.7L, 3.2L, and 3.4L flat-six engines found in the Boxster and Cayman. A cracked or split air intake duct allows unmetered air into the engine, leading to a lean air-fuel mixture, rough idle, hesitation, and potential check engine light triggers.
