This is a used BMW Air Safety Bag / SRS Control Module, OEM part number 9239985, removed from a donor vehicle. Also known as the SRS control unit, it also replaces numbers 9266329, 9248096, 9240582, 9231791, and 9224274. When the airbag system detects a collision, this module triggers the deployment of the safety bags. A common failure symptom is the airbag warning light staying illuminated on the dash. Because this is a safety part, installation must be performed by a qualified shop or dealer. It requires programming and must be coded to the specific vehicle VIN upon install.
