This is a genuine BMW charcoal/fuel vapor canister (OEM 7216548, also replaces 7220721), pulled from a donor vehicle. The canister traps fuel vapors from the tank and routes them to the intake for combustion. When clogged or saturated, you may notice difficulty fueling, a fuel smell, or a check engine light. The three engine choices include the 3.0L N55 turbo and N52 naturally aspirated straight-six.
