This used OEM convertible top latch/motor (part 8W7871499) was removed from a donor Audi. Also known as the convertible top latch or latch motor, it mounts at the front of the folding top mechanism. On Audi A5 and S5 models with 2.0L turbo or 3.0L supercharged/turbo engines, this unit secures the top when closed and drives the latch during operation. A failing latch motor can cause the roof to not fully lock or release, leading to warning messages or manual override needed.
