Also known as a cruise control switch or stalk, it mounts on the steering column and controls setting, resuming, and canceling the cruise speed. When the switch fails, symptoms include the cruise control not engaging, dropping out intermittently, or failing to respond to inputs. It fits BMW X5 models equipped with any of the 3.0L gas or diesel inline-six, 4.4L V8, or 4.8L V8 engines.
