This BMW door brake (OEM 7400140) is a used genuine check rod removed from a donor vehicle. Also called a check rod, it controls rear right door opening, holding the door at intermediate positions and preventing overextension. Over time, a worn door brake can cause the door to swing freely or fail to stay open. Fits BMW i3 and i3s models, including both the 0.6L range-extender and full battery-electric versions.
