This used OEM Audi Door Stop / Check Rod, part number 8U0837249C (also replaces 8U0837249B), controls how far the front door opens and holds it in place on Q3 and Q3 Quattro models. Over time the check rod can wear, causing the door to close unexpectedly or fail to stay at the desired open position. It fits both the left and right front doors and is compatible with the 1.4L and 2.0L turbo gas engines, as well as the 2.0L diesel.
