This tensioner maintains proper belt tension on the accessory drive for EA211-series 1.4L and 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engines. When the tensioner fails, you may hear a squeaking or chirping noise from the front of the engine, or the belt may slip, causing reduced alternator output or power steering assist.
