BMW ECU DME / Cas3 Theft Locking Module / Lock Cylinder W/ Key, OEM part number 7639422. This used genuine module also replaces numbers 8610679, 8606310, and 7645694. It integrates the engine control unit with the vehicle's theft-deterrent locking system for the 3.0L N54 and 4.4L N63 turbocharged engines. When this module fails, the car may not start or the key may be rejected by the ignition. This part must be programmed and coded to your specific VIN upon installation by a qualified shop or dealer.
