This used OEM BMW ECU DME / Cas4 Theft Locking Module / Lock Cylinder W/ Key, part number 8617520, also replaces 8689181, 8665254, 8656329, 8636967, 7540739, 7540738, and 8624488. It integrates the engine control module with the theft-locking and ignition lock cylinder assembly for 4.4L V8 twin-turbo engines. When this module fails, the engine may not start or the key may not be recognized. This part must be coded to your vehicle's VIN by a qualified shop or dealer after installation.
