This oil pump is responsible for circulating engine oil under pressure; a failing unit may cause low oil pressure, a warning light, or rattling from the top end. It comes from a 4.2L V8 (4163cc or 4172cc) DOHC naturally aspirated engine, common in Audi's EA platform.
