This is a used, genuine OEM Land Rover engine valve / cylinder head cover, part number 8W936P036AG, also replacing LR041443. It’s the right-side cover for the 5.0L V8 engine found in the Defender, LR4, and Range Rover Sport. When the gasket fails, it can leak oil onto the exhaust manifold, causing a burning smell or visible smoke from the engine bay. This cover houses the camshaft and valve components, and a cracked or warped unit will allow oil to escape, leading to low oil pressure or contamination of the spark plug wells.
