The BMW harmonic balancer (crankshaft/crank pulley) OEM 7593698 (also replaces 7558083) is a used genuine part from a donor vehicle. Serving the 3.0L 2979CC I6 turbocharged engine, this damper absorbs crankshaft torsional vibrations to protect the belt-driven accessories. When the rubber core deteriorates, it can wobble, creating a knocking noise or causing belt misalignment and accessory drive failure.
