Also known simply as the hood release cable, it connects the interior handle to the front latch mechanism for A3, S3, and RS3 models with 1.4L and 2.0L turbo fours or the 2.5L turbo five. If the cable stretches or snaps, the hood won’t open from the driver’s seat.
