This used Volkswagen ignition lock switch and cylinder (OEM 3B0905855G) comes with a matching key and also replaces 3B0905855E. The cylinder mechanically turns to operate the ignition and steering lock, while the switch sends electrical signals to the immobilizer and starter circuit. A failing unit often causes the key to stick or not turn, or the car may crank without starting. Because it ties into the immobilizer system, the new lock must be coded to the vehicle on install by a qualified shop or dealer using diagnostic software.
