This is a used genuine OEM BMW lower turbo mount heat shield, part number 8600299. It is a heat shield that mounts to the turbocharger's lower position, protecting surrounding components from the thermal output of the 4.4L N63 V8 engine. A failing or missing heat shield can allow excessive heat to damage nearby wiring or hoses.
