This is a used OEM BMW Parking Brake / Hill Hold Switch, genuine part number 9385029. It also replaces numbers 6822518, 9355233, 9217594, 9229412, 9318730, 9350899, 9349037, and 9349035. This switch controls both the electronic parking brake engagement and the hill-hold assist function that prevents rollback on inclines. When the hill-hold fails, the vehicle may not hold itself stationary on a slope after releasing the brake pedal.
