The BMW piston with connecting rod, OEM part number 7542292 (also replaces 7537124) is a used genuine assembly from a donor vehicle. This forged unit, often called a piston and rod, comes from a 4.8L V8 naturally aspirated engine. A worn piston can cause oil consumption, excessive blow-by, or knocking from lost compression. This assembly combines the piston crown and connecting rod as one piece, eliminating the need for pin installation. It was removed from a running donor, so the ring lands and wrist-pin bore are intact.
