The BMW i3 Rex Eme / Hybrid Inverter Converter (OEM 8644793) is a used genuine part from a donor vehicle. Also known as the hybrid inverter converter, it manages power flow between the battery and range-extender generator. This unit also replaces several other OEM numbers including 8688834, 8679694, and 8652056. Fitted to the BMW i3 with the 0.6L 647CC l2 range-extender (BEV REX) engine, a failing inverter often triggers drivetrain errors, reduced EV range, or a no-start condition. Programming is required—the module must be coded to the vehicle/VIN by a qualified shop or dealer on installation.
