The BMW starter/alternator wiring harness and battery cable, OEM #7542493, is a used genuine factory part that also supersedes 7567776 and 7542492. This harness connects the battery to the starter and alternator, carrying high current for engine cranking and charging. When this cable assembly begins to fail, symptoms include intermittent no-start conditions, dim lights, or charging system faults. It was removed from a BMW equipped with either the N52 3.0L naturally aspirated six-cylinder or N54 3.0L turbocharged engine family.
