It’s a coolant thermostat integrated with its mounting bracket, designed for models with EA888-derived 2.0L PHEV, 3.0L turbo six, 4.4L V8, or 6.6L V12 engines. A failing thermostat can stick open (slow warm-up, poor heater output) or closed (overheating).
