This BMW timing chain guide rail (OEM 7565243, also replaces 7565242) is a used genuine part for the left or right bank. It guides the chain on N55 3.0L turbo and N63 4.4L V8 turbo engines, among others. When the plastic guide wears, you may hear a rattling noise from the front of the engine, especially on cold starts, or the chain can develop slack and affect timing. Installing this guide restores proper chain tension and alignment.
