This motor powers automatic trunk opening and closing on models equipped with the power liftgate option. When the drive unit fails, symptoms include a slow, hesitant, or completely inoperative trunk hatch—often accompanied by a grinding noise or no response from the switch. It was removed from vehicles with engines ranging from the 2.0L turbo four to the 4.0L twin-turbo V8, including mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants.
