This right-side spring assists in lifting and counterbalancing the trunk lid on G11/G12 7 Series models, including 740i, 740Ld, 750i, 750Li, 760Li, ActiveHybrid 7, and Alpina B7/B7L variants. It works across multiple engine configurations—from the 3.0L turbocharged I6 gas and diesel to the 4.4L V8 and 6.0L V12—but when the spring loses tension, the trunk may fail to open fully or stay up on its own.
