This Volkswagen Trunk Lid Smart Opener Wire / Sensor (3CM962253A) is a used genuine OEM component removed from a donor Atlas Cross Sport. Also known as the kick sensor or foot-activated trunk release, it detects a kicking motion under the rear bumper to open the liftgate hands-free. When this sensor fails, the smart opener feature stops responding entirely. Compatible with both the 2.0L turbo and 3.6L V6 engines.
