This is a used OEM Volkswagen Trunk Lid Strut / Shock Set, part number 5GM827550A. These are the left and right gas struts that hold the trunk lid open. As these struts weaken, the trunk no longer stays up on its own and may drop unexpectedly. The set fits the 1.8L turbo gas and 2.0L turbo diesel engines in the Golf Alltrack and Golf SportWagen. Simply replace both struts to restore proper trunk operation.
