The BMW turbo heat shield / cover plate, OEM part number 8602958, is a used genuine part pulled from a donor vehicle. Also called a cover plate, it shields nearby components from the intense heat of the turbocharger. This shield fits cars equipped with the 3.0L turbocharged inline-six or the 4.4L turbo V8. Over time, heat cycling can cause the shield to crack or warp, resulting in a metallic rattle. This original BMW part restores proper thermal protection.
