This used BMW Upper ECU / Engine Control Module Housing Cover (OEM 8509914, also replaces 8509723) protects the engine control module from dirt, moisture, and physical damage. It's a direct-fit plastic cover for the ECU on turbocharged 2.0L gas and diesel, 3.0L gas, and hybrid BMW models. A common sign the cover is missing or cracked is exposed wiring or risk of water intrusion near the DME.
