This used OEM Volkswagen windshield cowl (part number 5G0805275B, also replaces 5G0805275A) channels rainwater away from the windshield base and engine bay. Also called a water deflector or rain tray, it prevents moisture from pooling near the cowl vents, which can lead to cabin leaks or corrosion. Common failure: the plastic becomes brittle with UV exposure, causing cracks that allow water entry. Fits VW Golf, GTI, e-Golf, Golf Alltrack, and Golf SportWagen models—compatible with 1.4L, 1.8L, 2.0L turbo gas, 2.0L turbo diesel, and battery-electric powertrains.
